As local New Yorkers and margarita lovers, we've been to quite a few happy hour spots! We’ve found some of the best margaritas in NYC and the best happy hour deals! So here is THE list of popular spots with the best happy hours in NYC.
Mad Dogs & Beans
This popular restaurant/bar has two locations: one in the Financial District and another in Midtown. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and their happy hours run Mondays through Thursdays from 2:30PM to 5:30PM.
Some of the most popular deals here are the $6 Margaritas, House Margaritas, & Cervezas (only available at the bar). Mad Dogs & Beans wins the title of best margarita happy hour in NYC!
The menu is also full of great food choices as well. Try their guacamole and chips, one of the best we’ve ever had!
The restaurants are quite popular with those working in the Downtown and Midtown areas, but it's also a great choice for visitors! The downtown location is just blocks away from well-known destinations like Battery Park (where the Statue of Liberty cruises depart), the 9/11 Memorial, and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Midtown location is strategically located between the Empire State Building and Bryant Park.
They also host incredible events with great deals on national Margarita Day (February 22nd) and on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th).
Ofrenda
Ofrenda is another great option! Unlike many eateries and bars in the city, Ofrenda’s tasty happy hour margaritas and botanas (small plates) deals run all week long, including the weekend!! Head there for happy hour and stay for dinner as well! Their drinks are delicious, and they have their own unique take on traditional Mexican cuisine.
Ofrenda is perfect for those working or studying around Union Square, NYU, and Washington Square Park!
It's located on 7th Ave in West Village, and their happy hour runs seven days a week from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
Some of our go-to choices are the $8 Traditional Margaritas with salted rims, the $9 Smoky Margaritas, and the fish tacos.
Mexicue
This Mexican restaurant has three locations: Chelsea, Nomad, and Midtown. Just like Ofrenda, Mexicue offers happy hour margaritas daily from open-6:00 PM! Popular happy hour deals include: the $8 Margaritas and the $5 Tacos and Beers!
On the weekends, Mexicue serves traditional Mexican brunch dishes and adds mimosas and Bloody Mary's to their brunch happy hour deals.
Dos Caminos
Dos Caminos also has multiple locations (Meatpacking District, Soho, Park Ave, Third Ave, Times Square), making it easy to grab one of their delicious margaritas.
$8 happy hour margaritas and some delicious $6 Bocaditos are some of the highlights of the menu!
Calexio
Besides its great drinks, drafts, and Happy Hour Margarita deals, Calexico has quite a delicious traditional Mexican menu! My favorites are the tacos: Carne Asada, Chicken, Veggie… I want them all! Thankfully they run their happy hour everyday from 4pm to 7pm in multiple locations (East Village, Park Slope, Greenpoint, Upper East Side (UES) & Union Street) across the city. Their Upper East Side restaurant is the perfect place to go after spending a few hours in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), and the happy hour deals include $12 Margaritas on the rocks (2 for the price of 1).
Rancho Tequileria
If you're looking for delicious margaritas in the Upper West Side or Hell's Kitchen, look no further! This authentic Mexican restaurant even offers margaritas to go! Their Happy Hour deals run daily from 4 to 7pm
Las Margaritas Sunset Williamsburg
For those living in or visiting Brooklyn or Queens, we recommend Las Margaritas Sunset. The restaurant has two locations, one in Astoria and another one in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They offer great happy hour deals like frozen strawberry margaritas for $6 and tap beer for only $4. Every weekday from 4pm to 7pm.
Barnacho
Barnacho happy hour runs daily from 4PM to 7PM. On Mondays, margs are on Special all day!
The Taco Shop
Last but not least is the Taco Shop. This authentic taqueria offers 3 tacos & one Margarita for $20 Tuesday - Friday 4pm - 7pm. The margaritas and tacos are amazing... this is one of our favorite places to get Mexican food in NYC!
